Choose high-quality, VOC-free or low-emission paint and primer
If you don’t make the right choices, the air quality in your home may be worse than outside. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other noxious substances can accumulate in the air and pose a risk to your health. Many paints and other finishing products contain chemical substances that are potentially carcinogenic. To limit the health risk, choose VOC-free or low emission products. Learn more in the “Paint” section.
Our recommendations :
-
To reduce health risk, choose paints labelled “VOC-free” or “low VOC emissions.”
-
Use low-VOC or low emissions adhesives, finishes and waterproofing products. The market now offers many healthy and very effective products that are easier on human health.
